Our Mission and Goals

  • Increase awareness of the risk of suicide in youth with mental illness, with a specific emphasis on depression.
  • Increase education on mental illness and suicide in our community school systems by collaborating with the public, leaders in education, and mental health professionals to produce and advance initiatives and training.
  • Provide community services, programs, training and activities that provide youth and adults an open and comfortable place to discuss mental illness and suicide without fear of stigma.
  • Provide financial support for initiatives by schools, community, persons, events, etc. that are taking care of our youth with mental illness so that appropriate resources can be provided.
  • Help in reducing the stigma associated with mental illnesses and suicide in our community.
  • Seek alternative methods to youth mental illness treatment and suicide prevention methods in our community by working directly with youth and cross-functional experts and professionals.
  • Foster a help-seeking community so that those who need supportive services reach out for help, or are referred to services by a peer.
  • Build and strengthen resilience, coping skills and connectedness among youth, their peers, families and the community.
  • Develop peer to peer mentorship, support groups and leadership with high school students.
  • Partner with organizations, parents, youth and the community as a whole so that there is a synergistic approach to accomplishing our mission of eliminating suicide.
